Why Clear Correct vs. Invisalign?
Our FAQ section below compares our dentist’s preferred clear braces provider vs. Invisalign. One key benefit is that ClearCorrect is typically more cost-effective.
Before you start ClearCorrect, you’ll first want to come by our Princeton, NJ, office for a complimentary consultation to determine if you’re a good candidate for clear aligners. We can provide you with an estimate of how long your specific treatment will take. Once a timeline and number of trays are estimated, we can also give you a treatment plan with itemized costs and fees involved.

ClearCorrect vs. Invisalign: What Works Better?
Does ClearCorrect work as well as Invisalign? Which clear aligners treatment is more affordable?
We can answer your questions related to choosing the best type of removable braces – here’s everything you need to know from our dentist.
ClearCorrect clear aligners are transparent plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth and gradually straighten them every two weeks. They’re made using the latest state-of-the-art technology – and are a great alternative to Invisalign for our patients looking for a more affordable option.
ClearCorrect is a type of clear orthodontic therapy that uses a series of digitally designed aligners. Each set of trays slightly varies in shape and form from the next – reflecting the alignment process of your teeth. The trays are rigid on the inside and fit snugly over your teeth, slowly moving them to their new positions when changed out as directed (usually every two weeks.) There are no brackets or wires to adjust!
Since ClearCorrect (like Invisalign) uses digital mapping to plan out your treatment, Canal Vista Family Dental can provide you with a close estimate as to how long your teeth straightening process will take.
Dr. Bestandji will construct a treatment plan just for you. Each individual case is different, but most of our patients will be in ClearCorrect between 6-18 months. The number of aligners that are included in your treatment will determine how long it takes, as each pair is worn for about two weeks.
Minor treatments: it should be noted that minor treatments are completed in just six months or less. Such as relapse cases, where someone wore braces in the past but did not keep up with their aligners. Short term cases tend to be restricted to the front teeth in your “smile zone”, rather than the entire bite as a whole.
Wearing your aligners as directed will ensure you see quicker results. We typically suggest that you wear your trays for a minimum of 20-22 hours a day. Failing to wear them properly or change them out as directed could delay your results.
One of the most common questions asked about ClearCorrect and Invisalign is which one is better? The short answer to that question is that it depends on your specific situation and preferences.
However, both Invisalign and ClearCorrect offer equally excellent orthodontic results if you have crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth. Each system uses clear, removable aligners that look nearly identical to one another. When you wear them, they’re practically invisible over your smile.
Each orthodontic system uses 3D mapped digital treatment planning to virtually guide your teeth into the desired position. That’s why they come with pre-delivered alignment trays that you take home with you. Nothing is made in our office and you won’t have to have wires or appliances adjusted. The orthodontic software does all of the planning for you, making it easy to progress your tooth movement at home.
Both ClearCorrect and Invisalign orthodontic systems have been clinically proven to achieve straighter teeth in as little as six months. More complex cases, of course, do take a bit more time to move teeth from start to finish. So how do you decide which product to go with?
Your final decision will come down largely to personal preference as well as financial considerations (more on that in a minute.)
Each of these invisible orthodontics treatments promises attractive, straight teeth without brackets or wires. When choosing the brand that’s best for you, it’s important to note that everyone’s smile is different—and one treatment might work better than another depending on your specific case and goals.
In most cases, ClearCorrect aligners are more affordable than Invisalign braces. The important thing is finding out what is best for your unique smile needs.
Since ClearCorrect is both predictable and budget-savvy, it makes an excellent and affordable treatment option for our clients looking for more affordable treatments over Invisalign.
Keep in mind that the cost of ClearCorrect will ultimately tie back to the length of treatment—and number of aligners—required to move your teeth. If your smile alignment only takes six months, the overall cost will be much less than someone who needs complex realignment, requiring 18+ months to complete.
And finally, your dental insurance may pay for ClearCorrect if you have orthodontic benefits listed under your plan. Our insurance coordinators will verify your coverage to see which benefits you’re entitled to, if applicable. Otherwise, you can also take advantage of our affordable monthly payment plan option!
More ClearCorrect FAQs
When you visit Canal Vista Family Dental for an orthodontic consultation, we’ll take a series of digital images of your teeth, as well as digital photos and possibly some impressions. This information is sent to ClearCorrect labs, where your digital case is planned.
Once your treatment plan has been developed using all of the information on hand, you may be able to preview a digital simulation of what your treatment will look like, previewing the results before you even start.
Wear your clear orthodontic aligners as prescribed (usually 20+ hours per day), only taking them out to eat or when you brush and floss. We’ll make sure you know how to take the trays in and out and give you several pairs to take home with you. Wear them as directed and be sure not to change them out too soon.
You’ll stop by to see Dr. Bestandji about every 6-8 weeks to ensure things are moving along properly and to bring your next several sets of aligners home.
Benefits of ClearCorrect trays to straighten your teeth include perks like:

- No changes to your oral hygiene routine
- “Invisible” appliances
- No irritating wires or brackets
- Fewer and quicker trips to the dentist

- Nobody has to know you’re wearing them
When it comes to impact on your routine and lifestyle, ClearCorrect wins the clear aligners vs. braces debate. You won’t have to worry about cutting your food up into small pieces or having extra tools to clean around your brackets, because everything is removable!
Since ClearCorrect digitally maps out your teeth in advance, you’ll never need “adjustments” to wires or brackets. Simply pop by our dentist office every other month to check in and pick up your next several sets of trays.
Absolutely. Removable alignment trays have been used in dentistry for about two decades, with consistent, ongoing development in their technology. When it comes to aligners vs. braces, the removable trays work almost just as good.
If it comes down to making a case for ClearCorrect, our local clear braces patients can expect the same great, straight teeth they would get if they were to wear traditional braces. Dr. Bestandji will thoroughly screen your bite to make sure you qualify for invisible aligners. As long as your case is one that is fitting for the treatment, you can hope to see a similar teeth straightening outcome as people who opt for conventional methods of orthodontic therapy.
Removable aligners like ClearCorrect use digital technology to virtually map your tooth movement before the treatment process even starts. Sometimes you can see an animated preview of your tooth movement prior to getting your clear braces. Seeing the virtual before and after can help you decide if adult orthodontic treatment is right for you!
It used to be that the price of braces vs. aligners was a bigger gap than it is today. A couple of decades ago, wearing clear braces meant paying as much as double. Fortunately, that’s just not the case anymore!
Today’s clear aligner braces for adults cost about the same as conventional orthodontic appliances, or just a fraction more. The month-to-month payment amounts if you’re financing the treatment is nearly the same for every budget. It’s easier than ever to afford aligners, because ClearCorrect aligners are more competitively priced than some of the other types of invisible adult braces.
Our financial coordinators will contact your dental insurance carrier to verify any orthodontic benefits under your individual plan. If they exist, we can apply that coverage towards the total cost of your braces to lower your out of pocket costs. It might be as high as 50% or a specific dollar lifetime allowance.
Typically, dental insurance pays the same amount on braces whether they’re invisible aligners or conventional orthodontic systems.
Plus, our braces options can easily be financed on a month to month basis, so that you can fit ClearCorrect into your budget and get started on treatment right away.
Yes, ClearCorrect aligners can be faster than traditional braces. As long as you follow your treatment plan as directed, you’ll probably start to see an improvement in your tooth alignment process within just a few months. In fact, ClearCorrect has an accelerated braces option that offers faster cosmetic teeth straightening. For these cases, our Princeton dentist arranges to straighten the teeth that are most visible when you smile, instead of all of them at once. As such, you may be able to complete your ClearCorrect short-term braces in just 4-6 months!
If you’re someone who struggles with keeping up with your orthodontics, then you might respond better to conventional braces treatment. Fortunately, adults make great candidates for ClearCorrect because they’re so eager to see the results!
Having fixed orthodontics (braces) on your teeth means that you need extra oral hygiene aids to clean around the brackets and wires in place. Usually a proxy-brush and floss threader are required, each of which adds significant time to your daily care routine. However, using an electric toothbrush and a water flosser may prove to be quicker and easier to access these hard-to-reach areas. Most orthodontists will also prescribe a fluoride gel to use each day, to remineralize any areas where plaque isn’t cleaned off (to prevent unsightly “white circles” on your enamel once the appliances are removed.)
ClearCorrect wearers don’t really have to change their home care routine at all. Simply take your trays out twice a day to brush and floss like normal. Make sure you’re brushing for a minimum of two minutes each time. Floss at least once per day. Before you put your trays back in, brush them with lukewarm tap water and your toothbrush. Don’t use warm water, as it could cause the tray to warp. If you notice any significant buildup, you can soak your tray in an effervescent denture cleanser for 30-60 minutes then brush them clean.
Living with Invisible Braces
ClearCorrect makes your oral hygiene routine easier than ever. The trays are removable, so you can brush and floss like you normally would. Traditional braces trap food particles and plaque – something that you don’t have to worry about with removable aligners.
Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy some of your favorite snacks like gum, popcorn, and corn on the cob, because there are no metal appliances you have to worry about breaking. Just take out your trays and put the back in when you’re done!
